The Special Education Teacher Assistant supports the Special Education Teacher in implementing student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) across instructional support, management and supervision, personal support, assessment, and materials management. This role focuses on assisting the teacher in various service areas to ensure student needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of student IEPs
- Provide instructional support to students
- Assist with management and supervision
- Offer personal support to students
- Aid in assessment support tasks
- Manage and organize materials
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of academic subjects
- Ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test (for TITLE ONE SCHOOLS)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test will be required in the future for TITLE ONE SCHOOLS.
