Teacher Assistant - Special Education

About This Role

Support special education teachers in implementing student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by providing instructional, management, personal, and assessment assistance, as well as material management.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
• Assist the special education teacher in instructional support
• Provide management and supervision support
• Offer personal support to students
• Aid in assessment support
• Manage and organize materials

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
• Basic knowledge of academic subjects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience, and for TITLE ONE SCHOOLS, the equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test will be required in the future.
