Teacher Assistant

Join a Christian childcare center dedicated to nurturing children's development by assisting the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, ensuring safety, and fostering a supportive learning environment for infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Teacher's lesson plans and maintain daily classroom schedules
• Support each child's social, emotional and intellectual growth and development
• Ensure the wellbeing and safety of children at all times
• Use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the Teacher, to meet individual student needs
• Assist students with assignments or difficult concepts
• Maintain communication with parents, staff and faculty regarding the progress of students
• Help children develop positive self-images and experience success
• Encourage the exploration of interests and developmental social skills
• Work with lead teachers in observing, assessing, and documenting each assigned child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
• Identify any physical or mental development concerns in assigned children
• Create and lead a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation
• Be vigilant about the health and safety of the children and report anything that poses a health hazard to the appropriate staff member
• Report any suspected cases of child abuse to the appropriate authorities

Requirements

• 1 year experience in a childcare setting with infants (8 weeks - 18 months)

Qualifications

• 1 year experience of working in a childcare setting especially with infants (8 weeks - 18 months)

Nice to Have

• MAT Certification
• First aid and CPR Certificate
