Systems Test Engineer 3

About This Role

This role involves synthesizing customer requirements into system test solutions, developing and executing comprehensive test plans, and coordinating integrated testing activities for Newport News Shipbuilding (HII), a leading builder of naval ships.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints
• Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems
• Coordinate integrated testing activities
• Review and evaluate test requirements to insure completeness of test program
• Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations

Requirements

• ABET Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; or Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; or Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
• US Citizenship

Qualifications

• ABET Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree or Ph.D.
• 5 years of relevant exempt experience with an ABET Bachelor's Degree; 3 years with a Master's Degree; 0 years with a Ph.D.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with mechanical and electrical system certification testing
• Background in fluid dynamics and heat transfer
• Background in electrical system design and theory
• Experience with submarine operations gained through shipyard or Navy experience
