This role involves leading the technical integration of complex power, networking, and thermal systems for modular data centers, ensuring readiness for high-performance AI workloads. You will be a bridge between physical infrastructure and AI compute.
Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of electrical, thermal, mechanical, and networking systems for Spark Modular Data Centers (MDC)
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to refine power distribution architecture for grid-scale and microgrid sources
- Partner with the Networking team to standardize the deployment of leaf/spine switches and fiber management within the MDC
- Collaborate with CI and Product teams to optimize internal thermal management of the MDC for compute/GPU performance
- Support the engineering transition from air-cooled to liquid-cooled (DLC/CDU) architectures
- Assist R&D in testing and validating next-gen "Spark" prototypes for future chip architectures
- Transition the Spark MDC to a standardized, manufacturable product for contract manufacturing partners, incorporating DFM practices
- Act as the technical escalation point for field teams during commissioning of complex, multi-unit deployments
Requirements
- 10+ years in systems engineering or data center design, with track record of integrating complex power and mechanical systems
- Deep understanding of medium-voltage power distribution and industrial-scale cooling
- Practical knowledge of high-speed data center networking topologies (InfiniBand/RoCE) and physical layer requirements for large-scale GPU clusters
- Experience working in environments where hardware and software are co-developed, requiring frequent collaboration with firmware and cloud networking teams
- Knowledge of UL/CE listing processes and NEC requirements for modular or containerized equipment
- Ability to translate complex engineering tradeoffs into clear decision frameworks for non-technical leadership

- 10+ years in systems engineering or data center design
