The Systems Administrator will play a key role in assisting the OIT in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support of infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support and expand infrastructure
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, and contractors)
- Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance
- Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
- Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor
- Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment
- Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines
- Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings
- Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions
- Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud services
- Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Power Platform
- Understand and manage Microsoft 365 services
- Supports other IT staff, including developers
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or another related field
- 2-3 years experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022
- 2-3 years IIS Administration
- 2-3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions
- 3-5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or another related field is required.
Nice to Have
- 2-3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems
- 2-3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP
- 2-3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software
- 3-5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services
