The Systems Administrator IV (Storage) at Cornerstone Defense will be responsible for the installation, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and administration of various storage systems and solutions within a large client-server based IT enterprise, supporting critical missions within the U.S. Government intelligence community.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and administer SGI IRIX based Operating Systems and SGI systems with direct attached and FC SAN attached storage.
- Manage Network Appliance clustered servers with direct attached and FC SAN storage and their supported applications.
- Administer multivendor clustered filesystems such as GPFS and Lustre, as well as Brocade FC switch networks and Enterprise class arrays.
- Support Solid State Disk (SSD), NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliances, and HPSE.
- Implement and manage Data Domain and similar deduplication products, and cloud-based storage solutions like HADOOP and IBM BigInsights.
- Perform trouble ticket management utilizing Remedy.
- Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verify health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.
- Provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e-mail services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts, perform system back-ups, and maintain system configuration files.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field OR five (5) years of full time computer science work
- 10 years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise
- Experience with installation, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and administration of SGI IRIX OS, SGI systems with FC SAN storage, Network Appliance clustered servers, multivendor clustered filesystems (GPFS, Lustre), Brocade FC switch network, Enterprise class arrays, SSD, NFS/CIFS, HPSE, Data Domain, and cloud storage solutions (HADOOP, IBM BigInsights)
- Familiarity with trouble ticket management using Remedy
- Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with UNIX or NT commands/utilities at the user level
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or five (5) years of full time computer science work
- 10 years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise. Experience shall include installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and NT based platforms.
