Surgical Technologist - Outpatient

About This Role

Serve as an integral member of the surgical team at the Ohio State University Surgery Center, performing technical skills related to intra-operative patient care in the scrub role. This role contributes to maximizing patient care outcomes and improving customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical skills related to intra-operative patient care
• Perform the scrub role in various surgical procedures
• Perform routine unit tasks
• Provide emergency care measures as appropriate
• Assist in meeting the patient's emotional needs
• Follow universal precautions, safe handling guidelines, and all other infection control standards
• Provide for safety/security of self and others and follow special precautions related to patient care
• Maintain a clean/organized perioperative unit
• Promote a positive attitude to staff, families, and patient/guests
• Maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• Completed formal Surgical Technology Training Program or equivalent

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in the Operating Room as Surgical Technologist
