The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during surgery, and providing the surgeon with necessary sterile items.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
- Provide the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience
- Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with minimum 3 years experience
- Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics)
- Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Uro)
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience; Graduate of an ORT training program
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a surgical setting (preferred) or on-the-job training.
