About This Role

This Per Diem Surgical Technician position at Providence Seaside Hospital involves working closely with the surgical team during weekdays on a day shift to provide direct patient care, optimize surgical outcomes, and maintain sterile technique.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with all members of the surgical team to provide direct patient care
  • Optimize positive surgical outcomes
  • Assist the surgeon and surgical team during the procedure by providing appropriate sutures, supplies, instruments, and equipment
  • Maintain proper sterile technique during the procedure

Requirements

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES and holds an active certification by the NBSTSA, JCAHPO, or NCCT
  • OR Completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corp and completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years
  • OR “Grandfathered” based on work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017 only and completed 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a training program in a branch of the armed forces or Public Health Service Commissioned Corp, or work experience in an ASC, hospital, or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017
