Surgical Tech

About This Role

The Instrument Technician cares for and prepares surgical instruments, maintains inventory levels, and performs sterilizer testing, ensuring proper supply management and sterilization protocols.

Responsibilities

• Care for and prepare surgical instruments and supplies
• Maintain established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment
• Order supplies for the area
• Perform appropriate testing of all sterilizers
• Keep accurate records of sterilizer testing
• Participate in opportunities of continuing education
• Demonstrate the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and other health team members

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Instrument technician experience
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
• Knowledge of standard precautions, aseptic technique, principles of sterilization and instrument handling

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Instrument technician experience
