The Supply Chain Analyst supports efficient linen management across Michigan Medicine's Ann Arbor Medical Campus, handling daily purchasing, inventory, documentation, and customer service. This role focuses on continuous improvement and ensures timely ordering and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze existing operations and business processes to improve system processes, performance, and to reduce costs and waste
- Generate discrete purchase orders daily in accordance with established PolicyStat procedures
- Perform transactional functions in PeopleSoft for Linen Distribution, including receiving, processing adjustments, recording returns, and verifying invoices
- Maintain PeopleSoft records and associated Excel documents for Linen Distribution, updating min/max/reorder points, and item descriptions
- Provide customer service for the Linen Depot, including phone/email support, ordering access, and processing emergency requests
- Facilitate and process quota change requests, seeking supervisor approval and analyzing before executing
- Conduct process audits according to PolicyStat cadence and requirements
- Perform administrative functions such as office supply monitoring and procurement of specialty linen items
- Lead continuous improvement activity, including scientific data collection and staff training
- Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports
- Create, review, and revise PolicyStat policies
- Regularly collaborate with other departments including Transactional Purchasing, Item Maintenance, and Warehouse Operations
- Facilitate annual physical inventory and implement a cycle counting program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in inventory control, purchasing, or logistics
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments
- Proven customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Appreciation for standardized work and documented processes
- Professionally agile
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in inventory control, purchasing, or logistics
Nice to Have
- Experience creating/updating policies (particularly in PolicyStat)
- Previous KPI generation and analysis
- Comfortable accessing various cloud storage services (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Exposure to LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement initiatives
- Substantial experience with ERP software, especially PeopleSoft
- Familiar with basic accounting principles
- Previous work in linen or supply distribution in a healthcare environment
- Comfortable navigating Tableau dashboards
- Experience generating dashboards in Smartsheet
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel Certification
- CLT or CLLM Certification through ALM
- CMRP certification through AHRMM
- CPIM or CSCP Certification through ASCM
