Supervisor

About This Role

This Supervisor role ensures a safe and productive work environment by managing hourly mill employees, coordinating maintenance, and upholding quality and compliance for a paper product manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Administer and model safety in area of responsibility, participate in and enforce the safety program, and review safety records to uphold maximum safety standards for all shift employees
• Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety standards
• Coordinate maintenance activities on shift
• Oversee and ensure the conformance of work in progress and finished good product to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and with optimum efficiency
• Troubleshoot production and quality related issues, determine root cause and implement sustainable solutions
• Direct, train and coach employees
• Direct and execute daily production requirements
• Meet or exceed productivity goals
• Maintain waste generation (trim, cull), at or below budgeted standard
• Inspect the finished product to ensure quality specifications are met
• Manage employees including performance feedback, coaching for improvement and discipline
• Maintain housekeeping excellence
• Ensure all production and employee reporting is completed timely and accurately for each shift
• Participate and ensure department remains compliant with industry and company audit standards
• Maintain compliance with all environmental policies and procedures; ensure that all city, county, state, and federal regulations are met

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years in supervisory or management role
• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1+ years in supervisory or management role
