Student Note Taker - Institutional Student Worker

About This Role

This role involves taking clear, concise, and legible notes for students with disabilities at the University of North Georgia. The note-taker will attend classes, upload notes promptly, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Sign a student Accessibility Services confidentiality agreement
• Successfully complete online training and quiz
• Take clear, concise and legible notes of each class, or post comments if class was canceled or no notes were taken
• Arrive at class on time and attend all classes, except in cases of illness or emergency
• Pre-arrange for a substitute note taker for days of absence
• Post notes or comments to notetaker.ung.edu within 24 hours of class
• Check UNG email account daily and respond to communication from SAS regarding notes
• Communicate effectively with Student Accessibility Services if a problem arises
• Give SAS 2 weeks notice if unable to continue in the note taking position

Requirements

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours
• Experience attending class and taking notes
• Minimum GPA of 2.5
• Skilled note-taker
• Organized, reliable, and responsible
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic Computer skills (Internet Browsers, Word, Scanning Documents)
• Able to keep information confidential

Qualifications

• No prior work history required, experience attending class and taking notes
