This role involves leading all phases of structural engineering projects for a multi-discipline engineering firm, from design to closeout, while managing client and stakeholder relationships. The Structural Engineer/Project Manager will ensure compliance with building codes and industry best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept, schematic layout, and design to budgeting, scheduling, and closeout
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines for system integration
- Participate in project meetings, overseeing timelines, budgets, and client interactions
- Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth through networking and client engagement
- Manage the Quality Control process and ensure compliance with building codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct and supervise the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and structural analysis and calculations
- Leverage Revit/BIM software for design coordination and drawing production
- Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies
- Conduct and oversee field observation to document existing conditions and gather essential data
- Manage the construction administration phase of projects, assisting contractors and reviewing shop drawings
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Oversee administrative tasks as needed
- Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methods
Requirements
- BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm
Qualifications
- BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm
Nice to Have
- MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Strong technical and organizational abilities
- Experience in the design and construction of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for primarily building structures
- Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept), CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT
- Passionate about providing exceptional client services
- Strong communicator and collaborator
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work with and lead junior engineers
