About This Role

This role involves leading all phases of structural engineering projects for a multi-discipline engineering firm, from design to closeout, while managing client and stakeholder relationships. The Structural Engineer/Project Manager will ensure compliance with building codes and industry best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept, schematic layout, and design to budgeting, scheduling, and closeout
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines for system integration
  • Participate in project meetings, overseeing timelines, budgets, and client interactions
  • Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth through networking and client engagement
  • Manage the Quality Control process and ensure compliance with building codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct and supervise the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and structural analysis and calculations
  • Leverage Revit/BIM software for design coordination and drawing production
  • Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies
  • Conduct and oversee field observation to document existing conditions and gather essential data
  • Manage the construction administration phase of projects, assisting contractors and reviewing shop drawings
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Oversee administrative tasks as needed
  • Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methods

Requirements

  • BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm

Qualifications

  • BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm

Nice to Have

  • MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Strong technical and organizational abilities
  • Experience in the design and construction of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for primarily building structures
  • Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept), CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT
  • Passionate about providing exceptional client services
  • Strong communicator and collaborator
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work with and lead junior engineers
