Structural Engineer

About This Role

Assist with structural reviews for locally sponsored projects including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, and participate in structural design activities.

Responsibilities

• Review structure submissions from project concept through project letting
• Provide technical guidance as a subject matter expert in structural engineering
• Prepare design computations, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates
• Perform superstructure design, substructure design, foundation design, and geometric layout
• Assist in the analysis of field data, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs for project planning
• Obtain, analyze, and interpret data
• Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs
• Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment for documentation
• Assist with business development activities by performing project research and field reconnaissance

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience using CADD Software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience

Nice to Have

• PA PE (Professional Engineer) license
• PennDOT (including PA counties) design experience
• Prior oversight of design teams for County or State bridge projects
