This role involves analyzing, researching, and developing structural engineering specifications for product design and operation within the defense and space manufacturing sector, focusing on naval ships. The engineer will work with various structural materials and perform analyses related to damage tolerance and stress.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, research and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design or operation
- Analyze structures, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs
- Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling
- Perform dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, and thermal analysis
- Utilize tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications
Requirements
- 5 years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field OR 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree OR 0 years with a PhD
- US Citizenship
