About This Role

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, and setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases at North Campus Surgery Center.

Responsibilities

  • Care for and maintain all surgical instrumentation
  • Set up supplies and instruments for surgery cases

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Computer skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions
  • Excellent team player
  • Ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Six months of experience preferred. 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician preferred.

Nice to Have

  • CRCST or CSPDT certification
  • Six months of experience
  • 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers
  • Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray
  • Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizer operation
  • Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
  • Ability to prepare reports and keep records
