The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, and setting up supplies and instruments for surgery cases at North Campus Surgery Center.
Responsibilities
- Care for and maintain all surgical instrumentation
- Set up supplies and instruments for surgery cases
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Computer skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions
- Excellent team player
- Ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Six months of experience preferred. 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician preferred.
Nice to Have
- CRCST or CSPDT certification
- Six months of experience
- 1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician
- Experience with all types of sterilizers
- Knowledge of operating room instrumentation
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray
- Understanding of steam/gravity sterilizer operation
- Understanding of Sterrad sterilizers
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records
