About This Role

This Staff Therapist II position provides essential clinical, outreach, and consultation services to university students, contributing to their mental health and well-being. The role involves conducting client assessments, performing case management, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive student support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical services to clients, including enrolled University students
  • Complete client assessments
  • Perform case management duties
  • Perform documentation duties
  • Serve as a liaison among stakeholders
  • Provide outreach and consultation services to members of the University community
  • Provide training to students in mental health professions as needed
  • Complete required training related to UA policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
  • Maintain personal accountability for financial reporting
  • Establish, enforce, and follow internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, or social work
  • Two (2) years of experience in consultation services, group therapy, teaching, outreach, student work, or case management
  • Licensure in the state of Alabama in good standing OR licensure in another state and licensure eligible in Alabama with ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, or social work
  • Two (2) years of experience in consultation services, group therapy, teaching, outreach, student work, or case management.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work
  • Two (2) years of work experience in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
  • Licensure in the state of Alabama at the level of an independent practitioner
  • Ability to work at times outside of normal work hours
