Sr Systems Engineer - SQL + Cloud Engineering

About This Role

Optimize and maintain global Microsoft SQL database systems, both on-premise and in the public cloud, ensuring high availability. Lead the transition processes to the cloud and support existing high service levels for customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain data definitions in all production and non-production databases and replication servers
• Manage database distribution, security, and access requirements
• Design and develop logical and physical layers of databases
• Install and maintain database software
• Monitor performance and perform database training and assists application developers
• Perform Back-up, recovery, archiving, and conversions

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
• 7+ years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure
• Extensive experience in Database administration
• Extensive experience in Automation
• Subject matter expert in MS SQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
• At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment and 7 years with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

Nice to Have

• Strong background in technical troubleshooting
• Worked on On-Prem and Cloud Hosting
• Worked with Application development tools
• Knowledge of Application delivery process
• Worked on Infrastructure as Code
• Extensively worked on Automating database operations/PowerShell
• Strong knowledge in Azure SQL and MI
