Sr. Program Manager for Growth, Modernization & Sustainment

About This Role

Lead programs for growth, modernization, and sustainment within the defense and space manufacturing sector. Drive strategic development, lead capture teams to secure new business, and ensure successful execution of projects while mentoring other program managers.

Responsibilities

• Achieve financial business goals for growth, cost, and schedule
• Mentor and guide other program managers in executing capture activities
• Act as the company's representative to senior customers to create new growth opportunities
• Maintain relationships of trust and respect with internal stakeholders, customers, and functional leaders
• Work with all functions to plan and execute opportunity capture
• Lead technical collaboration with internal and external customers for new opportunities
• Participate in internal and external Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and TIMs
• Prepare status or briefings for management
• Manage Risks and Opportunities
• Elevate issues and risks to appropriate levels within the Program Office

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience
• 7+ years successfully developing opportunities and leading capture of new business
• 5+ years of successful leadership experience leading a cross functional team
• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of additional work experience in lieu of degree
• Experience leading development teams and system requirements management
• Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated experience growing and executing a successful business, program, or leadership of teams
• Experience utilizing program management practices including scheduling, earned value management systems (EVMS), financial systems and program control, risk and opportunity (R&O) management
• Effective oral, written, listening and computer skills with Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with multiple levels of management and individual contributors
• US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Eight (8) years of additional work experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience, including 7+ years successfully developing opportunities and leading capture of new business, and 5+ years of successful leadership experience.

Nice to Have

• 10+ years of successful Department of Defense (DoD) program management or Integrated Product Team (IPT) experience
• Capture Management Certification
• Mechanical and/or electrical type product-based development leadership experience
• Experience and understanding of the DoD 5000 lifecycle model, DoD uniform/civilian acquisition experience, and DoD development processes
• Experience on DoD Internal Research and Development (IRAD, Customer Research and Development (CRAD), Technical Demonstration (TD), System Development and Demonstration (SDD) or Engineering, Manufacturing, & Development (EMD) Programs
• Experience with weapon systems or special mission military platforms, architectures, capabilities, customers, and/or missions
• Familiarity with Counter Air Systems including Radar/EO-IR/RF detection, target tracking, sensor fusion, RF effects, kinetic/non-kinetic defeat, and networked kill-chain workflows
• Experience with domestic & international allied customers
• Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree and/or experience
• Master’s Degree or other graduate degree
