About This Role

This Senior Project Manager (Sr. Manager) plays a key leadership role, directing the end-to-end planning, execution, and closure of complex, high-impact projects within the Corporate Functions portfolio. This role requires operating with limited direction, serving as the primary liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design effective processes to analyzing project requirements and constraints
  • Guide peers and/or teams to develop effective strategies for successful project execution while managing intangible factors related to project management
  • Collaborate across teams, facilitate partnerships, and support cooperative efforts
  • Ensure the scope of work aligns with the project objectives and prevent scope creep
  • Create a baselined schedule and monitor progress against it, with key milestones aligned to MVP and business outcomes
  • Update TPS forecasts, monitor variances in actuals/forecast for spend and capacity
  • Identify, analyze, and document risks and response plans; monitor progress of risk response plans
  • Identify all internal and external dependencies required to complete project work and actively work to remove project blockers
  • Create and leverage a communication plan for each project that considers stakeholder analysis, channels, frequency, meeting cadences, reporting
  • Create and maintain all required artifacts for the project to meet CPMO guidelines

Requirements

  • Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, facilitate partnerships, and support cooperative efforts
  • Experience ensuring scope alignment, preventing scope creep, and managing project risks/issues related to scope
  • Experience creating and monitoring baselined schedules with key milestones
  • Proficiency in updating TPS forecasts, monitoring spend/capacity variances, and managing project finances
  • Skill in identifying, analyzing, and documenting risks and response plans, and driving issues to resolution
  • Ability to identify and manage internal and external dependencies and remove project blockers
  • Aptitude for creating and maintaining project communication plans
  • Experience creating and maintaining project artifacts to meet CPMO guidelines
