This role involves supporting multi-million, multi-year large-scale construction projects by managing project cost control, procurement planning, and work breakdown structures. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide critical financial analysis and ensure project financial health.
Responsibilities
- Engage with project management team to create accurate budgets and manpower forecasts for multi-year construction projects
- Monitor and control indirect costs through weekly budget to actual analysis, identifying and eliminating root causes for variances
- Establish and monitor accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure projects remain cash-positive, adjusting as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of complex multi-million cost-plus billings monthly
- Lead procurement planning for projects, working with project management to develop detailed plans including compliance and logistics
- Help project team procure the job according to plan before 20% completion
- Perform monthly analysis of actual bought versus plan, ensuring acceptable justification for adjustments
- Assist project management team in establishing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) at the time of award and throughout the project duration
- Provide cost analysis and require explanations of variances from the project team
- Help project management team prepare monthly financial forms for management review
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience in financial analysis
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage own deadlines
- Ability to use accounting principles to solve problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years of related experience
