Sr. Financial Analyst

About This Role

This role involves supporting multi-million, multi-year large-scale construction projects by managing project cost control, procurement planning, and work breakdown structures. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide critical financial analysis and ensure project financial health.

Responsibilities

• Engage with project management team to create accurate budgets and manpower forecasts for multi-year construction projects
• Monitor and control indirect costs through weekly budget to actual analysis, identifying and eliminating root causes for variances
• Establish and monitor accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure projects remain cash-positive, adjusting as needed
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of complex multi-million cost-plus billings monthly
• Lead procurement planning for projects, working with project management to develop detailed plans including compliance and logistics
• Help project team procure the job according to plan before 20% completion
• Perform monthly analysis of actual bought versus plan, ensuring acceptable justification for adjustments
• Assist project management team in establishing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) at the time of award and throughout the project duration
• Provide cost analysis and require explanations of variances from the project team
• Help project management team prepare monthly financial forms for management review

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in financial analysis
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage own deadlines
• Ability to use accounting principles to solve problems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5+ years of related experience
