Sr. Business Systems Analyst

About This Role

This role supports the Connected Vehicle Development and Delivery team by aligning business needs with technical solutions for efficient and innovative connected vehicle services. The Senior Business Systems Analyst focuses on technical systems solutions, integrations, and services with an emphasis on global scalability. This position involves collaboration with internal and external Business Analysts to translate vision into technical reality and ensure high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Concentrate on the integration and optimization of systems for global scalability and complex integrations
• Review user stories created by Business Analysts and collaborate to understand business context and objectives
• Translate business requirements into refined technical stories, identifying systems, software, and technologies
• Consider system integrations, data flow, security, and performance when creating technical stories
• Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to clarify ambiguities and ensure shared understanding of requirements
• Refine user stories by adding technical details, specifications, acceptance criteria, technical tasks, and dependencies
• Create detailed documentation for refined user stories and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
• Validate refined user stories with stakeholders and prioritize/organize stories within sprints
• Document and communicate release scope, schedules, milestones, and release activities including UAT and post-release retrospectives
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and provide technical story guidance and clarifications

Requirements

• Strong ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and technical stories
• Proficiency in conceptual understanding of databases, programming languages, software development life cycles, system architectures, and data modeling
• Ability to identify issues, develop remediation solutions, and troubleshoot problems
• Experience in planning and coordinating release activities
• Familiarity with Agile practices and participation in Agile ceremonies
• Skilled in creating detailed documentation for business requirements including technical specifications, technical stories, user stories, and operational processes
• Proven ability to facilitate alignment and coordination across technical teams to ensure cohesive and integrated solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective time management and ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business, or related field required. Master's Degree such as Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or other relevant advanced degree preferred. Relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• At least 4 to 6 years of relevant experience required

• Competent with JIRA and Confluence
• Experience supporting telematics or connected vehicle technologies
• Experience with Waterfall, Agile SCRUM, and Kanban methodologies
