Senior Business Systems Analyst

About This Role

Lead business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into detailed system specifications for software solutions. This role is crucial for developing and enhancing new and existing technology within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe required changes to migrate to the "to be" capability
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions using interviews, workshops, and surveys
• Analyze and decompose complex business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
• Use data to analyze key themes and identify potential business impacts
• Interpret business needs and identify solution recommendations for business problems
• Identify, elicit, and document project/process requirements, ensuring traceability
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including data models and process flows
• Create clear and concise documentation for development and testing teams
• Explore external developments and emerging issues, evaluating their potential impact or usefulness
• Carry out feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects
• Deliver small- or medium-scale projects within an established program management plan
• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, engineers, testers, and project managers

Requirements

• Experience supporting technical projects, implementations, and modernization initiatives
• Experience communicating across different levels and teams
• Knowledge or experience in software development
• Ability to determine and analyze trends from collected data for decision-making
• Ability to conduct gap analysis between current and future states
• Understanding of business context, needs, rules, and architecture, as well as organizational structure, cultures, capabilities, and processes
• Ability to envision and document future state processes and technology
• Experience leading facilitated sessions for requirement elicitation, focus groups, and user acceptance testing
• Ability to express user needs in business requirements and conduct build or buy analyses
• Skill in creating rules for requirements and design quality, performing verification activities, and maintaining quality control
• Proficiency in utilizing modeling tools to diagram requirements (data/state changes, process improvements, use cases, user stories)
• Ability to create clear, comprehensive, effective, and user-friendly guides, manuals, narratives, and reports
• Skills in identifying, selecting, and managing oversight of business analysis work
• Ability to identify potential stakeholders, analyze expectations, and develop management strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Related Field or Equivalent Level
• 3 to 6 years of experience as an experienced practitioner

• Proficiency in using database reporting tools and techniques
• Experience in planning, identifying, monitoring, analyzing, and prioritizing risks and opportunities
