Sr. Accountant

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role is a contract position in Athens, Tennessee, focusing on managing financial records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate reporting across multiple entities. The individual will handle month-end close processes and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct month-end close processes, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date
• Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and verifying account balances
• Perform thorough account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Manage bank reconciliations for multiple entities, ensuring proper cash flow tracking
• Oversee intercompany transactions and resolve any related issues efficiently
• Handle backlog transactions and ensure correct recording
• Review incoming and outgoing cash flows, ensuring compliance with financial procedures
• Monitor invoice payments and rental transactions for accuracy
• Collaborate with team members to address financial gaps and improve accounting processes
• Work independently while maintaining open communication with stakeholders for support and clarity

Requirements

• Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance
• Strong background in journal entries and account reconciliation
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and managing financial transactions across multiple entities
• Familiarity with intercompany transactions and their proper accounting treatment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
• Ability to work independently, taking initiative to complete tasks without direct supervision
