Senior Accountant, Amazon Stores Accounting

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role is responsible for supporting accounting and reporting processes, applying financial principles, and assessing internal control effectiveness within Amazon's dynamic accounting group.

Responsibilities

• Support various aspects of accounting and reporting processes
• Understand and apply accounting and financial principles
• Understand internal control design concepts to assess effectiveness and design new processes
• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure correct decisions for month-end close
• Maintain a strong sense of ownership
• Analyze complex processes and systems data

Requirements

• 3+ years of finance or related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
• CPA
• Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO)
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and FASB codification
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
