SQL Database Administrator

About This Role

This role is responsible for monitoring and managing AutoSys job schedules, optimizing SQL queries for database troubleshooting and reporting, and tracking incidents and changes to ensure efficient database operations and adherence to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and manage AutoSys job schedules, ensuring timely execution and resolution of failures
• Perform root-cause analysis for job failures and collaborate with cross-functional teams for permanent fixes
• Write and optimize SQL queries across SQL Server and Oracle databases for troubleshooting, reporting, and validation
• Track, document, and manage incidents, tasks, and change requests using Jira
• Prepare reports, status updates, RCA documentation, and dashboards using MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Support production deployments, environment validations, and release activities
• Participate in on-call rotation, weekend support, and off-hours activities as required
• Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational guidelines, and compliance standards

Requirements

• AutoSys: Job creation, modification, troubleshooting, JIL understanding
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Experience with SQL Server & Oracle DB
• Hands‑on with Jira for work management
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• Knowledge of job scheduling concepts and batch operations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to ITIL processes (incident/change/problem management)
• Familiarity with any monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux commands for log analysis
