Join Powerback as a Speech Therapist-Clinical Fellow to complete your clinical fellowship and contribute to improving the lives of older adults and children through personalized therapy. Work under the supervision of a licensed, ASHA certified SLP and acquire the necessary requirements for provisional licensure.
Responsibilities
- Complete a minimum of 36 weeks (full-time) Clinical Fellowship under a licensed, ASHA certified SLP.
- Complete all requirements for provisional licensure and practice according to state licensure rules.
- Communicate Clinical Fellowship and licensure status to supervisors promptly.
- Meet productivity standards for the rehab gym as directed.
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to meet comprehensive patient needs.
- Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
- Adapt program and/or plan of care based on individual patient needs.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of tests.
- Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patient and caregivers, then implement and document the speech-language pathology treatment plan.
- Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instruct patients in their use.
- Facilitate identification of hearing deficits and refer for assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, or personal amplification.
- Select appropriate therapeutic activities suited to the individual's physical, mental, and interest levels.
- Instruct patients in therapeutic activity skills and techniques, and evaluate progress.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or Communicative Disorders
- Eligible for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Eligible for ASHA certification
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders or similarly titled area consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
