Specialized Trades Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise a team of trades workers across multiple disciplines such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC, managing building and equipment maintenance projects. This role ensures projects align with objectives and supports the mission and vision of the Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders
• Perform, supervise, and ensure quality of work relating to heavy equipment and machinery, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, concrete, masonry, welding, plumbing, and painting
• Provide assistance in complex projects and supervise vocational-level employees, including hire recommendations, training, planning, assigning work, and performance assessment
• Prioritize and manage purchasing requests, monthly administrative programs, time and leave usage, facility coverage, and training program compliance
• Ensure facilities remain in compliance with agency programmatic requirements
• Respond timely to urgent texts, phone calls, voicemails, chat messages, and emails while off shift using a state-issued cell phone
• Answer emergency calls and occasionally travel to other facilities to provide coverage and assistance
• Provide coverage at state facilities after hours and for emergency purposes (e.g., severe weather, snow removal, water leaks, fire)
• Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards

Requirements

• 3-5 years of skilled experience in trades, building maintenance, or construction
• Safety-first mindset with considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Valid driver license from Missouri or an adjacent state

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of skilled experience in trades, building maintenance, or construction

Nice to Have

• OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification
