Sonographer Perinatal PRN

About This Role

Perform comprehensive non-invasive, invasive, and vascular procedures to assess OB/GYN anatomy and fetal well-being. Independently provide technically optimal and accurate images for diagnosis of high-risk OB/GYN patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive non-invasive, invasive, and vascular procedures to demonstrate OB/GYN anatomy under investigation.
• Provide physiologic assessment of OB/GYN vasculature and fetal well-being.
• Independently provide technically optimal, complete and accurate images for diagnosis of the high-risk OB/GYN patient.
• Combine clinical history while performing sonographic study to summarize findings and document information to the appropriate physician.
• Assist physicians during invasive procedures including amniocentesis, sonohysterograms, endometrial biopsies, and chorionic villi sampling.
• Document patient history and results of study on the Perinatal computer network.
• Operate all ultrasound equipment competently, performing start-up/shut-down procedures and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Deliver patient care by ensuring patient safety, explaining exams, and maintaining positive customer relations.
• Position patients for all ultrasound exams and perform image critiques to determine if more views are necessary.
• Maintain professional accreditation, CPR certification, and attend continuing education seminars and departmental meetings.

Requirements

• Graduate of AMA approved school of ultrasound
• 2 years OB/GYN experience
• Proficiency in fetal echos within 1 year of hire date
• Good skills in OB/GYN and pelvic ultrasound exams
• Good skills in endovaginal scanning
• Good skills in OB/GYN color duplex scanning
• Good skills and knowledge of pathology in high risk OB/GYN imaging

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved school of ultrasound.
• 2 years OB/GYN experience
