Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to Solid Organ Transplant patients in a Progressive Care Unit. Collaborate with medical providers to provide comprehensive and compassionate pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and ensure thorough documentation
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action for unintended responses
- Provide exceptional care by promptly responding to patient requests and proactively anticipating needs
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures
Requirements
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact licensure
- Associate Degree (BSN enrollment/completion required within 24 months)
- Minimum of one year experience as an RN in a high acuity PCU or critical care unit
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment)
Qualifications
