This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Spring Break Learning Academy site, ensuring quality instruction, staff and student safety, and compliance with all policies. The Site Administrator will manage behavior expectations and administrative tasks for the program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Spring school site
- Ensure quality instruction and the safety of staff and students
- Communicate behavior expectations and consequences to staff, students, and parents
- Administer discipline for disruptive behavior when necessary
- Oversee the opening and closing of Spring school sites
- Ensure compliance with all state, district, and Spring school policies and procedures
- Ensure all state and district documents are submitted on time
- Attend all preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings
- Participate in Spring school setup and preparation prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract
- Be available for Spring school closeout operations after the new academic year contract has started
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or closely related field
- 4+ years teaching or training experience (or 8+ years equivalent experience)
- Active SCS Assistant Principal in good standing
- Commitment for the entire period of Spring school and attendance at the Spring School graduation
- Availability for all preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings
- Availability for Spring school setup/preparation and closeout operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a closely related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of teaching or training experience, or eight (8) years of equivalent combination of education, training, and/or paid, exempt level directly relevant experience.
