Assistant Principal

About This Role

This role involves assisting in the overall administration of an assigned school, including supervising staff, planning programs, and evaluating instructional environments. The position supports the principal in fostering vocational growth and development for students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing the daily operations and administration of the assigned school
• Assume responsibilities of the Principal in his or her absence
• Supervise assigned professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support staff members
• Develop and implement staff training and development programs
• Assist in planning and implementing school-wide programs, policies, goals, and objectives
• Assist in establishing and maintaining plans and actions to accomplish school goals
• Assist with the preparation and management of the school budget
• Assist in reviewing and evaluating the instructional program and observing classroom environments
• Coordinate and implement required standardized testing programs
• Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary

Requirements

• Master's degree in educational administration or supervision
• State certification in Administration/Supervision or Educational Leadership
• 3+ years of successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience

Qualifications

• Master's degree in educational administration or supervision from an accredited college or university
• 3 to 5 years of successful teaching experience with some demonstrated leadership experience
