The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will manage incoming and outgoing shipments of large aircraft parts, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging. This role involves comparing information, preparing items for shipment, and maintaining inventory.
Responsibilities
- Compare identifying information and counts of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against records
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates
- Affix shipping labels or stencil identifying information onto cartons
- Assemble or select containers, insert items, and add protective padding
- Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape using a strapping machine
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper
- Route items to appropriate departments
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Coordinate loading and unloading of trucks
- Operate forklift or hand truck to move shipments to storage or work area
Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Must be a US Person
