Shipping Associate

About This Role

The Shipping Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts, auditing inventory regularly, keeping the warehouse organized, communicating product locations, assisting other departments, and training personnel on shipping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Lean Initiatives through 5s and identify waste reduction opportunities.
• Visually inspect all outgoing product for quality assurance before shipping.
• Audit inventory daily as directed by the Materials/Shipping Manager.
• Process inbound and outbound paperwork properly.
• Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments (Logs).
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including emails.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse at all times (e.g., empty garbage, sweep floors, change light bulbs).
• Enforce company safety policies, including wheel chocks, clear fire exits, forklift inspections, fire extinguisher access, and safety glasses.
• Provide specific locations for finished goods to the Production Group, managing warehouse organization.
• Work mandatory overtime during busy shipping times like back-to-school, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
• Train all personnel involved in shipping or receiving product.
• Assist in the Production Group during slow shipping periods, including covering breaks.
• Ensure accurate inventory after each inbound and outbound shipment and daily counts match computer systems.

Requirements

• Ability to work a 6-day work week occasionally.
• Able to lift 25-50 pounds repetitively.
• Capable of safely driving a forklift almost all day.
