About This Role

Join a maritime division team supporting C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines, working at shipyards around the world. Perform welding tasks on various metals and alloys, read blueprints, and adhere to safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret specifications
  • Read and understand shipboard installation drawings, blueprints, and job orders
  • Use a variety of ARC and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as foundations, cable collars, cable/pipe/vent hangers, cable tube penetrations, studs
  • Weld in all positions and for all types of metals and alloys in various shapes to include pipes, structural forms, plates, sheet metal, bar stock, machinery and equipment
  • Weld parts together using gas welding, or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
  • Perform thermal cutting and grinding
  • Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase size of metal parts
  • Supervise and lead teams
  • Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools
  • Organize and schedule welding jobs to an on-time completion

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two to three years of applicable welding experience
  • ASNT NDT Level III Certification, or relevant experience
  • One other relevant technical certification or qualification (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Supervisor, AWS Certified Weld Inspector)
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications
  • Ability to read and understand shipboard installation drawings, blueprints, and job orders
  • Proficiency in ARC and gas welding equipment
  • Ability to weld in all positions for various metals and alloys
  • Ability to perform thermal cutting and grinding
  • Supervisory and leadership skills
  • US Citizenship eligible for security clearance
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time
  • Ability to relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine basis
  • Good vision (may be corrected vision), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of applicable welding experience
