Service Technician (Journeyman) - Building Systems & Services

About This Role

Building Systems & Services (BSS) is seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman specializing in start-up and service of HVAC equipment and building automation systems. This role involves diagnosing and repairing complex systems, providing technical recommendations for sales, and coordinating activities on projects.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex HVAC and control systems
• Apply extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test, service, and maintain these systems
• Provide field recommendations for retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements to existing equipment
• Assist sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads
• Interface with Service Manager, Project Manager, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities
• Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings
• Perform start-up and train the customer in HVAC Equipment and control systems operations
• Setup configurable controllers and complete manufacturer and all BSS job specific documentation and submit to the office
• Utilize manufacturer/vendor websites and catalogs to find technical documentation and replacement parts stock numbers
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of replacement parts

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Journeyman Certificate from Apprenticeship Program
• Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing HVAC systems
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Professional neat appearance and presentation
• Ability to operate fork truck
• HVAC Journeyman Certificate
• NATE certification
• EPA Refrigeration License
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing HVAC systems
