About This Role

This hands-on Service Advisor role involves scheduling and selling service work, assessing vehicle needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction for heavy and medium-duty trucks. You will communicate directly with customers to determine mechanical problems, establish repair timelines, and estimate costs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and answer service calls in a timely, friendly manner
  • Schedule appointments and communicate with customers to determine mechanical problems and estimate repair costs
  • Conduct preliminary inspection of customer's vehicle to visually assess for potential additional repairs
  • Test drive vehicles or refer to the test technician as necessary
  • Assign sequence numbers to repair orders, obtain customer and vehicle data, and ensure documentation is signed
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by following up on repair orders and communicating changes in estimates or timelines
  • Advise customers on vehicle care and the value of maintaining vehicles according to manufacturer specifications
  • Explain additional work details to customers, including costs and time considerations

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in heavy-duty or automotive parts-related work
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience working with the public in a sales, customer service, or service environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Persuasive communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Self-driven, motivated
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty or automotive parts-related work. Experience working with the public in a sales, customer service, or service environment.
