Senior Tax Accountant (Tax Manager)

About This Role

This role is for a Senior Tax Accountant (Tax Manager) responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax filings, advising clients on planning and compliance, and overseeing a range of tax engagements for a growing team in Atlantic County, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
• Provide year-round tax planning and compliance guidance to clients across various entities
• Mentor and review the work of junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and development
• Support audit responses and resolve tax issues with IRS and state agencies
• Utilize QuickBooks, UltraTax, and Excel to complete filings and analyze financial data

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active CPA or EA license
• 5+ years of public accounting or tax experience
• Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
• Solid understanding of tax law, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements for multi-entity structures
• Highly organized and detail-focused
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of public accounting or tax experience, including work with corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals

Nice to Have

• Experience in UltraTax software
