About This Role

The Senior Sustaining Engineer will provide technical leadership for sustaining engineering activities on gas combustion heating systems. This role involves investigating and resolving complex product issues to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for sustaining engineering activities on gas combustion heating systems
  • Investigate and resolve complex product issues, ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, including cost reduction and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, and service) to implement engineering changes
  • Ensure adherence to applicable standards and regulations within the heating industry
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field and production issues
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in combustion systems
  • Proven track record in sustaining engineering for complex mechanical/electromechanical products
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to heating systems (e.g., ANSI, CSA, UL standards)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in combustion systems

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with gas combustion system design and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with safety certification processes and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and cost optimization strategies
  • Knowledge of Heat Pump and or Refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
