Senior Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager

About This Role

Serve as a Senior Structural Engineer and Project Manager, leading the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and transportation-related structural projects. This role also involves mentoring technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, organize, and implement structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for bridge-focused transportation projects
• Prepare proposals and/or contracts; Participate in project decisions regarding technical approach, costs, and scheduling
• Responsible for client relationships, visibility, and business development
• Direct and mentor team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.
• Perform project management/task management
• Review plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements

Requirements

• 8-11 years of professional experience in structural bridge design, construction phasing, and complex bridge projects
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
• PE license
• Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO & DOT
• Independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysis
• Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in structural engineering
• Strong project management skills
• Knowledge of structural engineering software (AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Mathcad)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred), Master’s degree preferred
• 8-11 years of professional experience in structural bridge design, construction phasing, and complex bridge projects
