This Senior Project Manager role will oversee all project aspects from preconstruction to final owner sign-off for federal construction projects. The role requires leadership, cost control, schedule management, and ensures quality and safety across all project phases.
Responsibilities
- Lead Safety Culture for projects
- Control costs and maintain profitability for projects, utilizing extensive heavy construction experience
- Manage field construction activity, engineering, and other field project support activities
- Supervise the development of project schedules and monitor production to assure timely project completion
- Review cost reports and perform analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity
- Establish project labor requirements and review these with divisional management
- Conduct regular project inspections and advise project supervision of work progress, quality, and safety conditions
- Coordinate work with subcontractors to ensure subcontracts are within project scope and specifications
- Administer project policies and procedures
- Coordinate with architects, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and develop solutions
Requirements
- 10+ years construction management experience
- Medium to large federal project experience ($100M+)
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
- Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation
- Proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish goals
- Effective negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience in managing a project using established methods of cost reporting (cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC)
- Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
- Understanding of contract types and terms (General Conditions, Burn Rates, Fee Analysis)
- Understanding of various insurance programs (SDI, BR policies, OCIP, CCIP)
Qualifications
- Undergraduate University degree (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) or equivalent training/work experience
- 10+ years previous construction management experience, specifically with medium to large federal projects ($100M+)
