About This Role

This Business Development Director will drive growth in new and existing markets across the Southeastern U.S. by creating and executing a measurable sales plan to promote construction services. The role involves overseeing new business development and building strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the power market sector.

Responsibilities

  • Author, execute, and adjust a detailed, targeted, and measurable business development plan
  • Oversee and direct strategy for new business development creation in the power market sector
  • Organize and communicate customer relationship management (CRM) and sales efforts through the AEC360 CRM platform
  • Research and prioritize potential new business opportunities through market research
  • Conduct market research to determine the health of the market, staying abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the power sector
  • Attend and participate in networking organizations and events such as tradeshows and conferences
  • Create proposals and presentations with support from the Vice President of Business Development and the marketing team
  • Provide advice, liaison, and planning to prospective and current clients
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, developers, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and other stakeholders in the power sector
  • Assist operations and various departments with the sales process and final close to meet client’s needs and expectations

Requirements

  • Undergraduate university degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry or planning and implementing business development strategies
  • Deep understanding of the market, including key players, technologies, regulatory frameworks, and market drivers
  • Strong networking, communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to mine for information to vet and develop capture strategies
  • Talent to convey company’s abilities and unique qualities
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate university degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the construction industry or planning and implementing business development strategies.
