This Senior Principal Product Leader will define and execute the product strategy for critical drug discovery research products within the Therapeutics Discovery domain, collaborating with scientists across Roche's Research and Early Development organizations. The role aims to significantly impact and accelerate the discovery of diverse therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Refine the strategy and product vision for a product family in Therapeutics Discovery to ensure high impact scientific outcomes, including deep problem understanding, strategic product roadmap articulation, and nurturing stakeholder relationships
- Drive execution of the product area to ensure maximum impact, including eliciting requirements, backlog prioritization, and budget management
- Boldly advocate for future-facing solutions, anticipating emerging capabilities, understanding and influencing the Roche/Genentech informatics landscape, and integrating these into product roadmaps
- Identify key trends, technologies, and methodologies, adopting an Open Source first, Cloud first, API first, and AI first approach
- Contribute to the consolidation and deprecation of legacy systems and the overall reduction of technical debt
- Establish and cultivate strong internal and external partnerships and relationships with collaborators across DDC, CS CoE, and beyond
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in product management, business analysis, or software engineering
- Experience in all phases of the software development process
- Experience in documenting detailed software requirements, user stories, business processes, and/or software specifications for custom and COTS systems
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years, or an advanced degree plus 10 years proven experience
- 10+ years experience building impactful products, with applicable experience in product management, business analysis, or software engineering. Experience in drug discovery setting and understanding of drug discovery processes is strongly preferred.
