This role involves leading the Ground Software Maintenance team within the Systems Operations and Sustainment unit and supporting and maintaining operational software baselines and satellites throughout their mission life. The Senior Principal II Engineer will work within multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams focused on delivering high-impact discriminating technologies for customer missions.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead the Ground Software Maintenance team
- Perform DR backlog prioritization in coordination with the customer
- Work with Systems Engineering and Release lead to create a software build plan for release to operations
- Perform full software life cycle functions including software requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration, documentation, and support
- Prepare and present technical content to peers, management, and customers
- Provide leadership to teams, mentor junior or peer engineers, or be assigned to a technical or project leadership role
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with both internal and external customers
Requirements
- Current, active TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience in Operations and Sustainment Maintenance
- Proven leadership experience at the technical, team, or organizational levels
- Excellent organization, communication, and teaming skills
Qualifications
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field
- 10 or more years of related experience in Operations and Sustainment Maintenance
Nice to Have
- Additional experience in Cyber and cloud development using AWS or Azure
- Experience with Microservice architectures
- Experience with Message brokers (MQTT, AMQP, Kafka)
- Experience with REST and web app JavaScript framework development using Angular, React, Vue
- Experience with Web services (Nginx, Apache)
- Experience with Database (Postgres)
