Senior Estimator

About This Role

This Senior Estimator will play a key role in the pre-construction process for a residential semi-custom home builder, preparing accurate cost estimates and collaborating with design, sales, and construction teams. The role emphasizes craftsmanship, customer service, and efficiency in delivering high-quality homes.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for semi-custom residential home projects based on architectural plans, specifications, and design options
• Collaborate with the design and sales team to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery of proposals
• Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
• Maintain and update cost databases within Buildertrend to reflect current market pricing and vendor rates
• Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or design integrity
• Provide support for budgeting, change order pricing, and contract negotiations
• Continue to build out the Buildertrend software package to improve internal efficiencies
• Take on additional responsibility of managing a small estimating team

Requirements

• 5+ years of residential estimating experience in custom or semi-custom homebuilding
• Proficiency in Buildertrend or similar construction software applications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, methods, and market pricing
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Strong communication and negotiation skills

Qualifications

• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• 5 or more years of residential estimating experience in custom or semi-custom homebuilding
