Senior Estimator

About This Role

This is a superb opportunity for a Senior Estimator with glazing, curtain wall, or commercial glass experience to join a top-tier contractor. The role involves technical translation of products and services for clients, developing accurate estimates, and coordinating efforts with sales, project management, and accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming estimating requests and develop accurate and timely deliverables
• Communicate timely and professionally internally and externally
• Determine strategy for opportunities, including pricing, markup, and vendor options
• Complete appropriate handoff and participate in kick-off meetings
• Attend product and project web calls with technical discussions for clients
• Coordinate marketing efforts for opportunities and contributing PM and accounting team efforts
• Develop relationships with employees, departments, external customers, vendors, and rep firms
• Review deliverables for accuracy and product positioning, and coach/train staff
• Collaborate with the Sales team to qualify leads and establish deliverables and deadlines
• Standardize and audit data storage SOPs, develop standardized methods for deliverables, and audit estimated vs actual project costs
• Continuous improvement via checks-and-balances, meetings, feedback, and team accountability

Requirements

• 6+ years experience in an Estimator role in Construction
• Strong exposure to glazing, curtain wall, facade, or commercial glass projects
• Proficient in MS Office Platforms (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
• Strong skills in MS Excel
• Proficiency in Blue Beam take-offs
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and language
• Strong understanding of developing proposals, building and modifying cost worksheets, and working with parts lists and vendor pricing
• Creativity with alternatives to reduce sell prices and alternate products/options during value-engineering exercises

Qualifications

• Over 6 years experience in an Estimator role in the Construction space
