The Senior Environmental Graphic Designer creates compelling signage, wayfinding systems, and environmental installations for Kennesaw State University, aligning with brand identity and project objectives. This role manages multiple projects and ensures effective visual communication to guide users through complex spaces.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain graphic design standards and guidelines for the University
- Create digital prototypes and mockups for design concepts to present to stakeholders
- Procure and oversee the installation of two and three dimensional signs
- Make proper decisions on-site during installations
- Create architectural floor plans and signage message schedules
- Review construction drawings to ensure consistency and optimal use of design elements
- Contract with Environmental Graphic Design Consultants and signage vendors
- Review design documents and submittals for compliance with KSU Environmental Graphics Guidelines
Requirements
- 8 years environmental graphics related experience
- Knowledge of ADA and building code requirements for environmental graphics
- Ability to read and develop architectural plans and details related to environmental graphics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, environmental design, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture or related field
- Eight (8) years environmental graphics related experience
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and rendering tools
- Strong understanding of visual communication, typography, color theory and design principles
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Proven experience with production of interior/exterior signage and campus wayfinding plans, signage schedules
- Direct experience collaborating with architectural firms on higher education building projects
