This role supports a legal organization within a large Federal agency by managing eDiscovery productions, from logging and virus scanning to analysis and loading into Relativity. The technician ensures data completeness and follows specific protocols for various document types.
Responsibilities
- Log productions in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System
- Digest cover letters and provide brief descriptions of productions
- Call producing party to obtain passwords if encrypted media is received without one
- Determine if cover letters contain substantive information for loading into Relativity
- Virus scan productions off-network using multiple protection software and tools
- Address or reject productions if issues are detected, following protocol
- Copy clean productions to the Agency's network
- Follow specific protocols for handling various document types (whistleblower, RFPA, MOUs, International, BSA, audio, transcripts, laptops, paper)
- Analyze productions to determine required processing and protocols
- Analyze data to ensure completeness
- Inspect "load ready" data for complete components and communicate issues to Litigation Support Specialist if incomplete
- Monitor for incoming productions via email and FTP
- Scan and OCR small amounts of paper documents for Relativity loading
- Coordinate off-site scanning for productions containing multiple boxes of paper
Requirements
- Three years of eDiscovery technical experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of information resources
- Excellent analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Experience in managing multiple tasks
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Three years of additional, directly relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of eDiscovery technical experience in compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing information to support project task requirements
Nice to Have
- Experience with Government software policies and procedures
- Client-facing communication experience
- Federal Agency issued security clearance
